Charities welcome new ifs personal finance programme

29th April 2008

Programme in Personal Financial Planning (PPFP), the new personal finance programme launched by ifs School of Finance, has been warmly welcomed by many leading charitable organisations in the UK.

The programme is designed to help consumers get a better grip on their monetary situations.

It is aimed at educating them on five main areas, including forward planning, choosing financial products such as a secured loan or a mortgage and "making ends meet".

Ifs plan to help combat uncertainties regarding personal finance has been applauded by various organisations including Credit Action.

Chris Tapp, deputy director of the charity, said that it is in full support of PPFP because it can have a "genuine impact" on the way consumers manage their money.

He said: "Credit Action is always on the look out for quality programmes which can have a genuine impact in helping people to manage their finances better. The ifs School of Finance's Programme in Personal Financial Planning does that and we are therefore pleased to support it."

Other organisations which have offered their support to PPFP include Working Links and the Resolution Foundation.
