M&S gets tops marks for insurance

21st April 2008

M&S has been awarded a five star rating for its insurance products by an independent financial services benchmarking company.

Defaqto, who evaluated around 97 per cent of products across the financial services market, gave the insurance provider top marks for its annual and single trip travel insurance, home buildings and contents (premier), car insurance and pet (premier) cover.

Brendan Cook, M&S Money's chief executive, said that the rating was an indication of the standard of insurance available from the provider.

"We are proud of the policies we have put together in conjunction with our insurance partners and feel that they are some of the best available in the current market," he said.

Brian Brown, head of insight at Defaqto, added: "We analysed the policies available from Marks & Spencer against the whole market, using a wide selection of product features and benefits.

"Each of these policies is among an exclusive selection of high-quality policies to be rated five stars by Defaqto."
